Feb 22 2023 Basics of Communication Lesson


Communication is key in life and of course - the workplace :) 

TTOC Please review the below Communication PowerPoint. 

TTOC Materials: You will require a stack of blank 8 by 11 paper (teacher photo copy room) in addition to markers (available behind the teacher desk). Materials will be required at the end of the slide show for the final student partner activity. 

Students - I created the below Communication Presentation during my 10 years working onboard a variety of cruise ships as a People and Performance Manager training 1000's of crew. Thus, some of the work place examples provided throughout the presentation are cruise ship related, however, the information provided is generic in nature e.g. information is applicable to ALL settings - school, workplaces, home etc. 

TTOC - please feel free to update some workplace samples provided in the PowerPoint to be student and/or school specific e.g. samples of 'physical noise' provided.

If time at the end of class - students please complete the below presentation quiz. TTOC if you do not have time for the quiz please feel free to let me know in your sub notes and I can complete the below quiz with students upon my return.
